Archipelago Cancer Care Initiative (ACCI) aimed at bringing joy and support to children battling cancer. The program involves visiting a local shelter, Yayasan Peduli Kanker Anak Indonesia in Surabaya where chefs from Archipelago International cooked hearty meals for the children, and had the opportunity to participate in plating the dishes.

On  5th June 2024, Archipelago International’s top chefs will visit Yayasan Peduli Kanker Anak Indonesia Surabaya, bringing their culinary skills and heartfelt enthusiasm to create a memorable experience for the children. The event is designed not only to provide delicious and nutritious meals but also to engage young patients in a fun and creative activity.

By involving the children in the process of plating the dishes, the program aims to inspire joy and provide a therapeutic distraction from their daily challenges. Additionally, there were performances by a clown with engaging puppet show and games to entertain the children as well as to liven up the atmosphere.

“At Archipelago International, we believe in the power of giving back to the community. This program is especially close to our hearts as it allows us to make a positive impact on the lives of these brave children. We hope to bring smiles to their faces and create lasting memories during our visit.” said John Flood, CEO of Archipelago International.

The CSR program is part of Archipelago International’s broader commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. Donations collected from participating hotels between May 1 and May 30, 2024, were distributed in the form of cash assistance, milk, and school supplies to provide both practical assistance and emotional support. This event was orchestrated to demonstrate Archipelago International's dedication to aiding and uplifting those in need.

Through this activity, Archipelago International aims to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families, showcasing the company's commitment to social responsibility and the well-being of the surrounding community.

The event concluded with a communal meal. A representative from YPKAI expressed, "This support is very meaningful to us. We hope that today's activities can boost the children's spirit to overcome difficult times."
