Makassar, May 2023 - Archipelago Food Festival (AFF) is once again showcasing the excellence of Indonesian cuisine, this time in Makassar.
For this edition of the AFF, Harper Perintis Makassar by ASTON, which is also celebrating its 8th anniversary, is the host of the grand event in Eastern Indonesia. The aim of this event is to ensure the utmost satisfaction of all culinary enthusiasts in Makassar.
This culinary festival was held with great enthusiasm. "Our hotels take pride in every dish we serve, and we're excited to showcase the vibrant Indonesian cuisine at the Archipelago Food Festival. It's a chance to share the rich taste and variety of Indonesia's cuisine and promote our hotels as top food destinations.

Together with 13 Executive Chefs from hotels under Archipelago International, they presented 64 dishes from various regions in Indonesia, including Ayam Woku from Manado, Daging Sapi Pammarasan from Toraja, Soto Banjar from Kalimantan, Eungkot Paya from Sumatra, Ayam Goreng Sambel Embeh from Bali, Bebek Sinjay from East Java, Ayam Bekakak from West Java, Sup Bebalung from Lombok, Sate Tuna Rica, and many other menus.
The thirteen Executive Chefs who participated in AFF Makassar this time were Chef Firmansyah from Hotel NEO & Royal Malioboro, Chef Arif Suryadi from The Alana Malioboro, Chef Subadri from ASTON Madiun Hotel & Conference Center, Chef Susanto from The Alana Surabaya, Chef I Komang Aryana from ASTON Denpasar, Chef I Made Budi Antara from favehotel Kuta Kartika Plaza, Chef Muhammad Nawawi from ASTON Tanjung City, Chef I Kadek Sumadi from favehotel Pantai Losari, Chef Irwan Pattani from ASTON Makassar, Chef Hendro Lawalata from Harper Perintis Makassar, Chef Jais Lestusen from ASTON Gorontalo, and Chef Raden Febriazah from ASTON Sorong.
"The Archipelago Food Festival is an event that is held as a roadshow in several cities in Indonesia every month throughout 2023. As an initiative to support the recovery of the tourism industry, especially the hotel sector, it also introduces cuisine with the best quality ingredients and professional cooking methods by Executive Chefs from Archipelago hotels," added Denny Frederick, Corporate Executive Chef Archipelago International.
The Visitors from this event had the opportunity to enjoy various culinary dishes from all over Indonesia, as well as other interesting entertainment activities in a series of events. In addition, the AFF Makassar event was held with great enthusiasm with various traditional dance performances such Toraja Dance, Pedang Santri Dance, Balinese Dance, as well as live bands and Chef Shows.
